World War 2, Food and Community

During the Second World War at least 20 million people died of starvation and malnutrition, more than military deaths. However, food is a powerful and timeless tool to bring people together. Artist Jagdish Patel leads a tour of When the Snow Melts, exploring issues around war and food supply.

The tour is followed by a meal at nearby Salaam Shalom Kitchen, who have harnessed the power of food in Hyson Green to bring Muslims, Jews and others together.
